Campaign Planner - Statuses
Overview
The Purpose of this document is to define campaign planning statuses. Campaign Planning statuses are mandatory fields that the Merch Team are required to select when planning campaigns to determine the deals that a catalogue will be made up of, namely: Catalogue Status and Offer Status
Selling Type
Prior to generating a new product code in Odoo, The Merch team has to determine which 'Selling Type' category the product is classified as. 'Selling type' should only be set once at the creation of the product, These are the Selling type values:
- Individual - this is a product code that belongs to an item that is sold in its singular form. e.g. Reading glasses or a bag.
- Combo - this is a deal that comprises 2 or more items that belong in the same brand. A new product code has to be created for a Combo deal.
- Cross Brand - this is a deal that comprises 2 or more items that belong in different brands, e.g. a mug (Home) and a carton of tea (Orijins). A new product code has to be created for a Cross brand deal.
Promotion Prep Data
This is data that is used by the merchandise team as they plan their campaigns.
Catalogue Status
Catalogue status is currently determined by the Merchandise team per product per campaign. Marketing uses this status to decide how best to structure these items on the catalogue. These are the current Catalogue Status values:
- On - items that are on the catalogue.
- Off - if an item is marked as "Off" it means it has been discontinued or should not be on the catalogue.
- Newness - a new item or items that are new on the catalogue and have never been sold before.
- New Offer - a new deal that comprises of products that exist and have been sold before as only singles or in different deals.
- Sold Out - if an item is marked as "Sold Out" it means that it is out of stock and it should not be on the catalogue at all.
- Phase Out - these are items that are in the process of being cleared. They can be Phased Out as a Special, Any Deal, Combo deal, etc.
- If Brand Managers choose to “Phase out” an item, they need to indicate how they choose for it to be phased out, i.e.:
- Phase Out - Special: Items that are being phased out as a special, the “Now Price” should be less than the “Regular price”.
- Phase Out - Any Deal: Items that are being phased out as an “Any Deals” Bundle.
- Phase Out - Combo Deal: Items that are being phased out as a Combo Deal.
- Phase Out - Regular: Items that are being phased out but the “Now price” remains equal to the regular price
- Phase Out - Clearance: These are items that will be phased out, specifically on the Clearance section of the catalogue.
- Phase Out - Off: Items that were previously off catalogue or Sold Out, however have been brought back as returns and need to be added to the Pricelist/ Catalogue
- Phase Out - Special: Items that are being phased out as a special, the “Now Price” should be less than the “Regular price”.
- If Brand Managers choose to “Phase out” an item, they need to indicate how they choose for it to be phased out, i.e.:
Offer Status
The Offer Status determines the campaigns and deals that an item should be included in. These are the current Offer Status values:
- Regular - an item or items that are sold at their standard price.
- Special - an item or items that are sold at a discounted price. e.g., Regular Price: R100 & Now Price: R80.
- Bundle (Buy x Deals) - these are deals that allow customers to purchase an x amount of items at a discounted price point.
- A bundle deal comprises of 2 or more items that belong in the same brand. It allows a customer to pick different variants of a ‘similar’ product.
- The regular price of the singles in the bundle should be the same
- The single items that live in a bundle deal should have a standard regular value and a now discounted value (e.g. buy any 2 bottles for R100, Now price for 1 bottle is R50 and Regular Price is R60)
- If a customer chooses to purchase a single item that lives in a deal, they will pay at the regular price of the item and the consultant/ Sales Force member will be invoiced at the discounted price.
- A bundle deal comprises of 2 or more items that belong in the same brand. It allows a customer to pick different variants of a ‘similar’ product.
- Combo - This a deal that comprises 2 or more items that belong in the same brand but have different prices, a combo deal allows the customer to purchase product A and Product B at a discounted Price, e.g. a blanket and a towel.
- Cross Brands- this is a deal that comprises 2 or more items that belong in different brands, e.g. A mug and a tea.
The table below lists the different offer statuses that can be applied to the Catalogue Statuses:
